We have exciting news! The 3rd High School Summer Camp for Deaf and hard of hearing students in 2020 is going ahead, thanks to funding provided by the NZSL Board and the support of the van Asch/Kelston combined Board of Trustees. ?

The camp will take place at Camp Adair in the Hunua Ranges, just south of Auckland, from 17 until 21 January 2020. The other brilliant news is that travel, meal and accommodation at the camp is FREE for Deaf and hard of hearing students! ?

The camp is open to Deaf and hard of hearing students who will be enrolled in any high school in New Zealand in 2020, including those who are not receiving services directly from either Deaf Education Centres.

Parents and staff of students who attended previous camps reported that they had fun, made new friends, and were more confident.

This year, registration for the camp can be done online. For more information about the camp or to register, go to our official Deaf Camp website at www.nzdeafcamp.co.nz. Registration deadline is Friday, 20 September 2019 or earlier if the maximum number of approved registrations is reached.

We welcome staff members who are keen to volunteer as a Camp Leader for 7 days, from 16 until 22 January 2020, to email to nzdeafcamp@gmail.com to express their interest. (the two extra days are for preparation at beginning and debriefing at the end)

All queries about the camp can be emailed to: nzdeafcamp@gmail.com.
